We are very pleased with the results of our Year 6 pupils this year. The children worked very hard in preparation for their tests, had a very calm and measured approach and each one of them should be very proud of their achievements. We were particularly delighted with the number of children achieving the expected level in math’s (91%) and the number of children whose marks indicate, based on last year’s statistics, that they are working at greater depth in reading, writing, math’s and grammar/spelling. We have recognized that several children did not achieve the expected level in writing because there is now an expectation that spellings should generally be accurate in all pieces of writing. The learning/practice of spellings will be a higher priority next academic year to help children reach the expected level.
